Chest Wrap

A torso-wrapping control grip - one or both arms locked around the opponent's chest/ribcage from behind or above - used to immobilize the torso and deny frames/underhooks before advancing to a finish or a positional turn. Recurs independently across at least three systems: the entry grip into High Ground's Reverse Half Guard / Side Triangle attack chain; the Single/Double Chest Wrap from Mount associated with Nicholas Meregali's mount-attack system (stripping the defender's arms to open Kata Gatame/Arm Triangle); and a top-control breakdown grip in freestyle/folkstyle wrestling, recently popularized in the US via European influence (credited to Nick Heflin, Kyle Dake, and Gable Steveson).
