Reverse Closed Guard

A leg-entanglement guard where the bottom player closes their legs around the opponent's leg — rather than their torso, as in standard closed guard. Popularized recently by Owen Jones, who lists it as his signature position; an evolved, refined version of the earlier 'Donkey Guard.' Typically entered from K-Guard: when the top player stands and hinges their hips back to strip the K-guard foot, the bottom player locks their legs around the opponent's leg instead, denying the hip-back escape and securing uninterrupted access to leg attacks. Once closed, the position prevents the opponent from freeing their hips while the attacker fights for dominant grips on the trapped limb, functioning as a strong entry point into leg locks, sweeps, and back takes.
