Description
An innovative choking technique developed by Baret Yoshida that utilizes either the opponent's lapel or the practitioner's own belt as a choking implement. Most commonly applied from the crucifix position where both of the opponent's arms are controlled, making defense nearly impossible. The lapel variation involves pulling out the opponent's lapel and wrapping it around their neck, while the belt variation uses the practitioner's own belt (which must remain tied for legal compliance). Both variations create a tight noose effect that leads to rapid submission.
Common Applications
Primarily executed from crucifix position where both opponent's arms are immobilized, making it nearly indefensible. The lapel variation is more commonly used as it's readily available and doesn't require belt manipulation. The belt variation is more psychological and surprising but requires careful execution to maintain legal compliance. Both variations are most effective when the opponent is exhausted or focused on defending other attacks. Often used as a surprise technique when conventional submissions are being defended.
