- BJJ: Leg-Over Pass
Description
A standing pass where the passer jumps over the bottom player's legs instead of going around them. With the bottom player on their back, the passer controls the legs and squeezes the knees together into one bundle, pointing them to one side. The passer swings the outside leg up and over in a wide arc, clears the hips and goes airborne over the legs. The passer then uses that momentum to land on the far side, posts a hand for base and settles into side control. Keeping the knees bundled tight until landing stops the bottom player from re-guarding under the jump.
Common Applications
Passing a supine open guard with the knees up and together, or a loose knee shield, when the passer is standing and the bottom player isn't using hooks.
