Description
Tori reaps the outside of uke's heel with a small scooping motion of the sole/instep, first driving uke's weight onto that heel and then reaping it out toward their back corner so they fall backward. Smaller and more timing-based than o-soto-gari — it removes one already-loaded heel rather than reaping a whole leg.
Common Applications
Push uke's weight back onto the target heel, then reap the instant it's loaded. Chains cleanly with ko-soto-gake if the reap is stuffed, and combines forward/back with ko-uchi-gari.
