- BJJ: Leg Drag, Leg Drag Pass
Description
A redirection guard pass where the attacker secures ankle or pant-cuff grips on both of the opponent's legs, drags them to one side, then steps the near knee past the hip to pin the legs to the mat. This immobilizes the opponent's hips and misaligns their spine, typically forcing them to turtle or exposing their back, and opens direct routes to side control, knee-on-belly, or a back take.
Common Applications
Effective against most open guards (De La Riva, spider, etc.) and commonly used as a transition off a defended toreando pass. Leads to side control, knee-on-belly, or back control depending on how the opponent reacts to the hip lock.
