Description
A pressure pass where the passer establishes an underhook or collar grip to control the opponent's upper body, then drives their near knee diagonally (roughly 45°) across the opponent's thigh, using the shin as a wedge to split and pin the bottom leg to the mat. Once the leg is cleared, the passer steps over into side control.
Common Applications
One of the highest-percentage passes at every belt level; applied against half guard, open guard, butterfly guard, and immediately after breaking closed guard. Associated with competitors like Lucas Lepri and Romulo Barral.
