- BJJ: Standing Guard Break Sweep
Description
A guard-bottom sweep executed when the opponent stands up inside closed guard or open guard to attempt a posture break or pass. Tori reaches around the outside of uke's ankles or calves, traps both heels, then drives forward with their torso while opening the guard — eliminating uke's ability to step back to recover balance. Uke falls straight backward like a felled tree, giving the technique its name. Tori finishes by sitting up into uke's guard or directly into a mounted position.
