Description
A mount escape that uses the opponent's own posture and weight against them by trapping one or both of their arms and rolling to reverse the position. The defender traps the opponent's arm (typically by underhooking or overhooking) and holds it tight to their body, preventing the opponent from posting. Simultaneously, the defender bridges their hips explosively to disrupt balance and creates a roll opportunity. By keeping the trapped arm (or arms) pinned and using hip thrust combined with foot placement for leverage, the defender rolls the opponent onto their back or side. When executed properly, the defender ends in a dominant position (mount or side control) on top of the opponent. This technique is highly effective when the opponent commits weight to their posture or attempts a choke or submission.
