Shin on Shin Guard
A dynamic open guard position where the bottom player places their shin against the inside of the opponent's shin on the same side, typically with the foot positioned near the opponent's ankle creating a hook-like effect. The same-side arm wraps around the opponent's leg behind the knee for additional control. This position serves as an effective platform for off-balancing standing opponents, executing sweeps, transitioning to other guards, and setting up leg entanglements. The position provides both defensive stability and offensive opportunities, making it particularly effective against opponents who prefer to remain standing during guard passing.
