Reverse X-Guard

Variation of: Open Guard

A leg-entanglement open guard where the leg positions are reversed relative to standard X-Guard: the inside leg hooks the opponent's hip while the outside leg hooks underneath to the front of the hip (opposite of standard X-Guard's leg arrangement). Offers stronger off-balancing toward the opponent's front, opening up sweeps and a strong platform for leg locks. Commonly entered from Butterfly Guard or Single Leg X Guard.
