Description

A reverse-triangle choke attacked from the bottom of side control, popularized by 10th Planet black belt Jeremiah Vance. From a Mission Control-style hug on the opponent's far leg (foot hooked at the ankle, forearm framing their head down toward the hip), the attacker swings the near leg up and over the opponent's head, locking a triangle configuration around the neck and near arm despite starting in a defensive position. Closely related to the Buggy Choke, with practitioners routinely flowing between the two depending on which arm/leg the opponent frees.

Common Applications

Escape/reversal-turned-submission from bottom side control; often set up as a scramble response when the opponent's far arm crosses your hip and their head is heavy.
