Description
A counter and pinning move to the Single Leg. When the opponent shoots in and secures a leg, the defender drops their weight onto the opponent's head to stall the takedown's advancement, then reaches across the body to grab the opponent's far leg. Once both of the opponent's legs are gathered — the near leg wrapped together with the leg the opponent was originally attacking — the defender rolls forward onto the mat. On the ground, the defender controls both of the opponent's legs, bringing their knees as close in line with their head as possible to secure a tight pin. A high-value counter when it lands cleanly, though the compressed, tangled landing position can occasionally create scoring ambiguity over whose shoulders touched down first.
Common Applications
Counter to a secured single leg shot, particularly effective against high-crotch or head-outside variations; converts a defended takedown directly into a dominant pinning position rather than a leg lock (Victor's Roll) or top control scramble (Funk Roll).
