Description

A finish from the Single Leg used when the opponent's remaining leg is the near/inside leg relative to the attacker's position. With the captured leg secured, the attacker reaches up to control the opponent's neck or upper body, closes distance with a short step of the far leg, and attacks the opponent's planted foot with a sweeping/tripping motion while pulling down on the neck/head to drive them off balance and to the mat. A lower-amplitude, lower-risk finish compared to the Dump, commonly taught as a first finish for beginners.

Common Applications

High-percentage finish when the opponent's free leg is on the near side; frequently paired with the Back Trip as the pair of finishes for the two possible leg positions from a secured single leg.
