Collar Tie

Variation of: Standing

Single-point contact: one hand controlling the back of the opponent's neck, collar, or upper trapezius, mutual and symmetric — each fighter can hold the same tie on the other. The most fundamental upper-body clinch grip, used to control posture and disrupt balance; entry point for snap-downs, front headlocks, and takedown chains. Becomes Double Collar Tie when the same fighter secures both hands (asymmetric, two-point contact from one side only).
